France 3 dives into ‘The Silence Of Water’

French broadcaster France 3 has picked up Italian thriller Il Silenzio Dell’Acqua (The Silence of Water) following a deal with Mediaset Distribution.

The 4 x 100-minute series is produced by Vela Film and RTI and was originally broadcast on Italy’s Canale 5, proving a ratings hit with four million viewers tuning in for its first episode.

The series tells the story surrounding the disappearance of teenager Laura Mancini in a small coastal village near Trieste, and the subsequent investigation that brings to light the entire community’s buried secrets.

The second season of the show has already been produced and is due to air on Canale 5 in the autumn.

Created by Jean Ludwigg and Leonardo Valenti, the series stars Ambra Angiolini and Giorgio Pasotti.
