‘Doom Patrol’ returns to Starzplay for UK premiere
Starz-owned SVOD service Starzplay has picked up the second season of DC superhero series Doom Patrol for its UK premiere.
The platform aired the 15-episode first season earlier this year. The show will return on 16 July.
Produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and distributed globally by Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, Doom Patrol is based upon the outcast comic book heroes created by DC.
Following the events of the first season, the new run sees the team miniaturised and trapped on a toy race car track, while coming to terms with a recent betrayal and their own personal baggage.
Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) and The Chief (Timothy Dalton), will all return for this second outing, joined by Abigail Shaprio as the mysterious Dorothy Spinner, whose powers threaten to bring about the end of the world.
Starzplay is available in the UK via Amazon Prime Video Channels, the Apple TV app, Virgin Media, Roku, Rakuten and the Starzplay App for iOs and Android.
