TV2 Denmark’s long-serving exec Anette Romer is stepping down as head of acquisitions this summer, after more than three decades in the business.

Romer will continue to head the department over the coming months while working with head of TV2 Play and TV2 Zulu’s Sune Roland, who will then assume responsibility for the department. Romer’s last day will be 30 June.

The rest of the team continue in their respective roles, TV2 said, with acquisitions now sitting within the division home to on demand service TV2 Play and Zulu.

Romer, who took up her current role more than a decade ago and before that worked in commissioning, said: “Over the past decade I’ve been lucky to manage one of the best and most respected acquisitions teams in the industry.

“I could not be happier with the solution that has been found with Sune Roland helming the team. With the highly increased focus on TV 2 Play and the strategic emphasis on strengthening our relationship with young viewers it makes a lot of sense gathering Play, Zulu and acquisitions into one entity.”

Romer added that she was “leaving the broadcaster in such a strong position fills me with immense pride and respect for all my colleagues.”

“The industry has transformed drastically over the past three decades and keeping ahead of the changing technology, viewing habits and trends has been a daily challenge and something I will continue to follow closely,” she said.

Roland added: “With her more than 30 years with TV2, Anette´s imprint and contribution to all of TV2´s channels is undeniable and noteworthy. The respect Anette enjoys on both an international and domestic level is unparalleled.”
