TVF extends co-pro pact with Tokyovision, sells to NHK and Animal Planet

Dog’s Best Friend

Factual distributor TVF International has struck a raft of sales with Japanese broadcasters and agreed a new co-production arrangement with Tokyovision.

Pubcaster NHK secured Indian Space Dreams for its Dramatic Planet slot, which airs on NHK’s Educational channel and is from Sequoia and Spring Films.

The show features exclusive behind-the-scenes access to India’s first space mission and follows the academics and technicians who launched a satellite on one tenth of NASA’s budgets.

Meanwhile, Animal Planet Japan has acquired Canadian Summerhill International’s Dog’s Best
Friend and Tokyovision has taken BBC-commissioned The Secret Life Of Your Clothes. It has also added RTÉ show Will A Robot Steal My Job for NTV’s World Great TV slot.

TVF International has also expanded its co-production partnership with Tokyovision, building on 4K aerial travel shows Japan From Above and Laos from Above, which the two companies have produced together.

The indie distributor and the Japanese company are also now working together on Ocean Wild, a four-part, 4K underwater wildlife co-production exploring the creatures and habitats across East Asia.
