Globosat’s children’s channels boost content and programming investment
Globosat’s kids channels Gloob and Gloobinho have launched two new departments for content and programming.
Flavia Costa is to lead the content team, which will focus on developing scripts for original productions and co-productions for both channels. Meanwhile, Luiz Filipe Figueira will be responsible for programming, which includes acquiring international content and co-productions, as well as the programming strategy for the channels.
Tatiana Costa is to serve as general director for both channels.
Figueira will represent Gloob at this week’s MIP Cancun market as the business looks to reinforce its position in Latin America and appeal to Hispanic audiences in the US.
Costa said: “Flavia and Luiz Filipe are part of the history of Gloob and Gloobinho. Their dedication over the years has been crucial to the growth of our channels. In their new management roles, they will be able to create even more value during this period of internal restructuring.
“We are very excited and looking forward to the new developments that will mark this new phase of Globosat’s Children’s Unit. Their professionalism and competence will further reinforce our commitment to creating enchanting stories, producing original content and ensuring competitive international brands, which are just some of the reasons why our channels are so strong in Brazil’s audiovisual market.”
Figueira added: “We arrived at MIP Cancun really excited about the opportunity to discover new and innovative projects that speak to our audience and our values. What we want for our channels is engaging stories with strong characters that inspire children and to which they can relate. We want to create a portfolio of new and relevant content that further strengthens the strategy of the Kids Unit.”
