Fred Media appoints former TCB, Cineflix exec for pre-sales and acquisitions
Australian distributor Fred Media has appointed former TCB Media MD Kate Lewellyn-Jones as a strategic consultant to bolster the company’s pre-sales and acquisitions division.
Lewellyn-Jones was MD at TCB until early last year and before that SVP of sales and acquisition management at Cineflix. Her arrival comes two months after fellow TCB exec Mem Bakar landed at the Australian distributor to head European sales office.
Fred is the commercial arm of Australian Bondi Vet and Vet On The Hill prodco WTFN Entertainment. Lewellyn-Jones and Bakar’s arrival follow the departure of long-time Fred and WTFN exec Sally Cronin, who first joined the business in 2010.
Fred COO, Roger Vanderspikken, said: “We’re on a big growth curve thanks to a combination of a new slate of premium factual shows from WTFN and quality third party content from producers such as Tastemade.
“Kate is joining us to help fine tune our pre-sales and acquisitions strategy. Clearly Kate has enormous experience in the industry and has played important roles in the success of both Cineflix and TCB. We’re looking forward to adding her valuable strategic thinking to the Fred team.”
Lewellyn-Jones added: “I have long admired the quality of the WTFN catalogue and the new slate of programmes represents an exciting new phase in the company’s growth. WTFN’s premium finished programs along with the shows they have in development is an enticing proposition, and I am looking forward to working with Mem and our European clients to fast track some of these projects.”
