Greenbird backs new prodco from documentary presenter Stacey Dooley

BBC documentary presenter Stacey Dooley has launched a new production outfit with the backing of Keshet Media Group-backed investment outfit Greenbird.

Little Dooley will work as co-producers to co-create programme formats as well developing commissioning ideas and emerging talent. Greenbird will offer “a services and support role” with Little Dooley, the investment firm said, with the presenter producing her own shows through the company.

Dooley has made more than 90 documentaries in the last 12 years including shows such as Stacey Dooley In The USA for the UK’s BBC Three, while Greenbird has been behind companies including Frank Spotnitz’s Big Light Productions and Owl Power, the outfit behind BBC unscripted show Gone Fishing.

Greenbird’s joint MD, Stuart Mullin, said: “This model is one that has worked well with Big Light and Owl Power and allows creatives to develop while we help support with the necessary services to help enable commissions.”

Dooley added: “Little Dooley will not only be my new home, but hopefully in the future, a safe space to nurture new talent coming through.”
