Showtime picks up Caravan’s New Order documentary

New Order

US cablenet Showtime has acquired a feature documentary about New Order that marks 40 years since the band’s first TV appearance.

New Order: Decades is produced by Caravan and follows the band’s preparations as they re-stage their collaboration for So It Goes with artist Liam Gillick and a 12-piece synthesiser orchestra, which was originally produced for the Manchester International Festival 2017.

The 1 x 120 minute show, originally commissioned by Sky Arts in the UK, is being produced and directed by Mike Christie, with White Light Distribution selling globally.

The show will air in the fall on Showtime and will offer full access to New Order and their collaborators including Gillick and art director Peter Saville.

Dinah Lord, executive producer and MD of Caravan, said: “New Order: Decades offers a rare chance to enter the band’s private world, understand the visual philosophy of their aesthetic and design, and witness their collaborative, creative processes first hand.”
