‘Hunted’ remake becomes Amazon’s first unscripted original in Italy
Amazon Prime Video in Italy has ordered a local six-part version of Endemol Shine Group’s format Hunted, marking its first unscripted move in the country.
Celebrity Hunted – Caccia All’uomo will feature local celebrities as they go on the run from a team of expert hunters, with football star Francesco Totti and YouTuber Luis Sal among contestants confirmed.
The local version is being produced by Endemol Shine Italy and will launch exclusively on Amazon in more than 200 countries and territories in 2020. Hunted was originally created in the UK by Endemol Shine-backed Shine TV, with this latest deal marking the eighth adaptation for the format around the world.
The show requires celebrities to remain at large for 14 days across Italy with limited financial resources as a team of professional investigators, cyber analysts, online profilers and human trackers attempt to find them.
Amazon has been rapidly expanding its unscripted output over recent months and earlier this week unveiled eight-part Jeremy Clarkson-fronted series I Bought The Farm (working title) from Expectation.
