Freeform ends ‘Pretty Little Liars’ spin-off after single season
Disney-backed US network Freeform has brought the curtain down on Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists after just one season.
The show, which was spun off from hit drama Pretty Little Liars in 2017, ran for a single 10-epiosde season but has been cancelled after failing to secure viewers.
The series was based on the book The Perfectionists, written by Sara Shepard, who also penned the New York Times bestselling novel series Pretty Little Liars.
The latter ran for seven seasons on Freeform (fka ABC Family) and was ranked as cable TV’s number one drama across 18-34 and 12-34 demos during its final season, according to the network.
The spin-off was produced by US-based Alloy Entertainment, Long Lake Media and Warner horizon Scripted Television, with Pretty Little Liars’ showrunner Ina Marlene King attached as exec producer. Its final episode aired in May.
