Starz has promoted Marta Fernandez from senior VP of original programming to executive VP.
Fernandez, who has been with Starz since 2007, will continue to steer the original programming team and lead the company’s inclusion initiatives. She will also continue to expand the drive toward female-forward programming and oversee new developments.
Current productions Fernandez oversees includes original titles Vida and American Gods. In the past, she has overseen originals such as Spartacus and Black Sails.
“Marta has done an excellent job of developing premium content and diverse talent and has been a great representative for Starz in our goal of serving underserved audiences,” said Carmi Zlotnik, president of programming for Starz. “We are pleased to be able to acknowledge her dedication and continuing contribution to the network.”
