Barcroft and TCB Media partner for Shake My Beauty

Factual indie Barcroft Media and TCB Media Rights have inked a co-pro deal for an 8×60-minute series based on Barcrofts digital series Shake My Beauty.

In the agreement TCB will take the worldwide distribution rights for the title. It follows a similar collaboration for Barcroft’s Extreme Love, that has seen We TV co-producing the series for broadcast in the US.

Shake My Beauty tells the stories of people who use social media as an empowerment tool to help overcome body image insecurities caused by physical or psychological challenges.

Stories include the bearded woman proving hairy isn’t scary, the young woman living with hardening skin that’s turning her into a real life living doll and a 21-year old alopecia sufferer who will be going out in public without her wig for the very first time.

Barcroft has produced 25 episodes of short-form documentaries in the Shake My Beauty series that it says have collectively attracted 17.7m views to date on the Barcroft TV YouTube channel and 5.2m views on Facebook Watch.

Shake My Beauty is one of three shows to now be developed into a long-form series for linear broadcasters. Others include Amazing Interiors for Netflix, alongside Emerging Love.

“We are delighted to be extending our collaboration with TCB Media Rights with Shake My Beauty. It is a privilege to join our contributors on their challenging journeys of self-empowerment,” said Barcroft Media CEO Sam Barcroft.

Paul Heaney CEO of TCB Media Rights added: Barcroft’s expertise lies in its brilliant execution of shows combined with a proven track record and sheer integrity to back it all up”.
