A+E promotes Heather Jones for EMEA

A+E Networks has upped general manager for A+E Networks UK, Heather Jones, to senior VP of content and creative for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

In her expanded role, Jones will provide strategic direction and management support across the A+E Networks EMEA operations, while retaining her UK management responsibilities.

Reporting to EMEA managing director, Dean Possenniskie, she will oversee content and creative strategy in all EMEA territories including acquisitions, commissions, marketing, branding, digital, creative and communications. 

Jones will also be the main EMEA partner to A+E Networks International channels in relation to new shows and formats that originate in the UK and will play a central role in developing international events and co-productions.

The promotion comes after Jones was made general manager for the UK and SVP of content and creative in 2015, having first joined A+E Networks UK as VP of programming in 2013. Prior to this she held positions at MTV, All3Media, Paramount Comedy and Flextech Television.

“Heather is an exceptional creative leader, and I am very positive to grow her role at A+E across our full EMEA business,” said Possenniskie.

Jones said: “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to work across the whole EMEA region alongside our talented local teams. We have exciting plans for all of our brands and I can’t wait to bring them to viewers in the UK and in EMEA.”
