Big Bang Theory to end in 2019

The world’s number one comedy, CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, will end next year at the end of its twelfth season.

A joint statement released by Warner Bros. Television, CBS and Chuck Lorre Productions said the show, which will have racked up 279 episodes by the time it finishes, will draw to ‘an epic creative close’ in May 2019.

The show, which is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, began in 2007 and has received 52 Emmy nominations and 10 wins. It has since become the longest running multi-camera series in television history. The final season will debut Monday, September 24 CBS before moving to its regular time period on Thursday, September 27.
