Arrow and Drive partnership takes flight
A new factual series detailing catastrophic events on board aeroplanes is in the offing after Arrow Media and sales agency Drive announced a new partnership.
The two companies say they will work together on a new show, Flights From Hell, which has been commissioned by Channel 5 in the UK, to air this summer.
The 6×60’ series is the first collaboration between the two companies, with Drive securing a range of international pre-sales to co-finance the series, and Arrow handling production.
The show will combine UGC footage, witness testimony and reconstruction to give an insight into some of the most terrifying plane episodes of recent years. Each episode will be themed and covers everything from Mechanical Failure, Landings and Pilot Error to Terrorism, Extreme Weather and Passengers.
Ash Potterton is Arrow’s executive producer on the series, which is produced by Stuart Strickson.
The show is the latest in Arrow’s slate of aviation themed programmes, which include Ultimate Airport Dubai for National Geographic Channel (three series, 30 x 60 mins in total); Planes That Changed The World, Smithsonian Channel (3 x 60 mins); Mayday: The Passenger Who Landed A Plane, Channel 4 (1 x 60 min).
