Universal TV brings Lost City Explorers to life
Universal TV has added to its slate of comic book properties with a deal to adapt AfterShock Comics’ popular Lost City Explorers for TV audiences.
The series is based on Zack Kaplan’s comic featuring a group of teens who become underground urban explorers after a mysterious expedition leads to the disappearance of one of their fathers.
Kaplan will exec produce the series, while Lee Kramer and Jon Kramer will take a similar role for AfterShock Media.
“The Lost City Explorers is a story to inspire the imagination and unlock everyone’s hidden explorer,” said Kaplan. “Along with Aftershock, I’m thrilled to partner with Universal and help bring this story to television.”
“We at AfterShock are excited for this first project with Universal and thrilled that they saw in The Lost City Explorers what we saw – an incredibly fun and thought provoking story from a creator with tremendous talent,” said Lee Kramer and Jon Kramer, AfterShock’s president and CEO respectively, in a joint statement.
