ITV finance director & COO to step down after 10 years
ITV’s chief operating officer and group finance director, Ian Griffiths, has announced he will retire from the UK broadcaster in the next 12 months.
Griffiths joined ITV as finance director in September 2008 and took on additional COO duties in April 2017. He will stay on until a successor is appointed, with the search for his replacement now underway.
“Ian has been a key part of the management team that transformed ITV’s performance,” said ITV chairman Peter Bazalgette.
“The strategy that Ian helped develop and deliver has created a strong platform for our future success and delivered real value for shareholders.”
ITV CEO Carolyn McCall said that Griffiths leaves ITV in “strong financial health” and will continue to help implement the company’s strategy over the next few months.
Griffiths praised ITV as a brilliant business with superb people. “I am immensely proud of everything that we have achieved at ITV, not least in keeping the business together through the financial crisis and then delivering strong shareholder returns from 2010 onwards.
“I will be leaving a great team and a business in good shape. I wish Carolyn and the team all the very best as they continue to take ITV from strength to strength.”
