Exclusive: The Wall heads to the Middle East
Game show The Wall, a US format created and produced by Glassman Media, SpringHill Entertainment and Universal Television Alternative Studio, will be heading to the Middle East.
MBC has acquired the rights to broadcast local versions of the format in Arabic. The news arrives after the format has already aired in 16 territories worldwide.
The format sees a pair of teammates attempt a quiz in order to win a life-changing cash prize. This is set behind an interactive set piece, which highlights their successes and failures.
The Wall has already seen international success, it will now go into its second season on NBC. It’s distributor, Endemol Shine, also claims that the format’s Colombian launch reached a 40.2% audience share, winning over its timeslot.
Marina Williams COO of Endemol Shine International Operations says: “We are very happy to bring The Wall to the Arabic viewers across Middle East and proud of MBC’s choice, as one of the leading broadcasters in the region.
“MBC and Imagic production house will deliver top quality and thrilling entertainment to the millions of viewers across the region.”
