30 years of TBI: New World Order (2010)

TBI turns 30 this year, and to celebrate we will be publishing a series of archive articles chronicling the evolving television and entertainment landscape since 1988.

In 2010 there were parallels to the rise M&A activity we have seen in the past year. While today we’re looking at the Fox/Disney or AT&T/Time Warner tie-ups, eight years ago the transformative deals were reflected in the production and distribution sector through Banijay, eOne, Zodiak and Shine.

As we know these groups have all turned into TV powerhouses. John De Mol, Alex Mahon, Steven DeNure and others discuss the topics we may be handling today: uncertain world economy, global partnerships and international presence.
