France gets Naked and Afraid
Lagardère Studios’s 909 Productions has grabbed the rights of US format Naked and Afraid, which Renegade 83 produces for Discovery Channel in the US.
France will be the first international territory to bring in a local adaptation of the adventure format in which one man and one woman are left alone in the wild, naked and without money.
Naked and Afraid finished programmes have already been broadcast in France on both Discovery Channel and RMC Découverte.
The original format has been produced for eight seasons in the US. The 12 episodes French adaptation will go free to air first, with Discovery Channel taking has the second window.
909 Productions has also concluded a distribution agreement with The Story Lab regarding family safari-themed adventure gameshow Safari Go!
Shot in South Africa, the show launched last year on DTT channel Gulli, and been renewed for a second season. The Story Lab gets worldwide rights to the exception of Spain and France.
This is the second French format picked up for international distribution by The Story Lab. The company also launched format 5 sur 5 from Tooco this week at MIPCOM.
