Bavaria Fernsehproduktion rebrands for int’l push
Bavaria Fernsehproduktion has rebranded as Bavaria Fiction as it looks to grow its international business.
The Bavaria Film and ZDF Enterprises subsidiary already produces a range of fictional content for free TV, pay TV and streaming platforms in Germany, and is looking to expand its international business.
Bavaria Fiction has participated in international coproductions with Sky Deutchland and Sonar Entertainment for the upcoming Das Boot and with Deutsche Telekom original for Germanized with Newen Group’s Telfrance, and has rebranded as it looks for more projects.
Bavaria Fiction is headed by managing directors Jan S. Kaiser (pictured) and Manfred Haus-Pflüger. Chief content officer Oliver Vogel oversees all content-related tasks, and the prodco is based in Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart and Berlin.
“Ten years ago we took over the TV production business of Bavaria Film,” said Kaiser. “Thanks to our business partners and our strong creative team, we have grown steadily, both in the area of commissioned productions as well as in high-end event programming and international coproductions.
“At the same time, the content business has continued to change rapidly with the rise of new market participants, prompting us to create new internal structures to take advantage of the opportunities on top of our core business.
“This process has been carried out over the last two years, resulting in a clear message today of the rebranding of Bavaria Fiction.”
