UK indie hires Discovery & eOne alum for sales
UK indie Wag TV has appointed former Discovery Networks exec Janice Strangward to lead its global content distribution arm, which was formed last year and formally launches at MIPCOM this October.
Strangward has held senior sales roles at Entertainment One, Passion Distribution, Al Jazeera Media Network and Zee Entertainment Enterprises, most recently leading the latter’s European distribution efforts.
She has experience selling a variety of content genres across several territories and will also be responsible for acquisition of third party content for distribution at Wag.
Headed by CEO Martin Dukin, Wag TV recently won commissions from UKTV and Discovery’s Science Channel in the US.
The Great War in Numbers tells the story of World War I through the use of statistics and Strange Evidence investigates strange events caught on surveillance camera will both premiere this autumn on Yesterday (UKTV) and Science Channel respectively.
Wag Worldwide will make its’ first appearance at MIPCOM with 62 hours of new content.
