New Star Trek leads to ‘record’ CBS SVOD sign-ups
Sunday’s premiere of Star Trek: Discovery on CBS All Access, CBS’s streaming service, is said to have “broken a record” for subscriber sign-ups in a single day.
CBS says it has beaten the previous record achieved by the 2017 Grammy Awards.
CBS All Access also experienced it’s best week and month for sign-ups due to the launch of Star Trek: Discovery, the autumn kick-off of the NFL on CBS and the season finale of Big Brother, according to CBS.
CBS will look to further engage Star Trek fans with After Trek, the show’s live companion after-show hosted by Matt Mira.
Episodes one and two of Star Trek: Discovery are currently available to stream on CBS All Access. All new episodes will be available on demand weekly for CBS All Access subscribers in the US.
