Clinton drama The President is Missing heads for Showtime
Showtime has acquired the television rights to the upcoming Bill Clinton novel The President Is Missing, co-authored by James Patterson.
In July this year, it was revealed that Clinton and Patterson were shopping TV and film rights to the upcoming novel in Hollywood.
The rights were acquired by Showtime in what has been reported to have been a competitive situation with many networks and streaming services trying to secure the rights.
“Bringing The President is Missing to Showtime is a coup of the highest order,” said Showtime president and CEO David Nevins.
“The pairing of President Clinton with fiction’s most gripping storyteller promises a kinetic experience, one that the book world has salivated over for months and that now will dovetail perfectly into a politically relevant, character-based action series for our network.”
“I’m really enjoying writing this book and working with Jim, and I can’t wait to see Showtime bring the characters to life,” said Clinton
