Cartoon Forum wrestles with strike issues

France-based European animation pitch Cartoon Forum is considering moving its dates forward after a general strike was announced.

Currently, Cartoon Forum organiser MEDIA has not changed the dates from the scheduled September 13-15 in the city of Toulouse.

However, this may to change to 12-14 September, with delegates that have not yet booked flights advised to wait until Wednesday (July 5), when a decision is due.

Those that have flights booked for September 12 are advised to keep an eye on the situation, and those that booked through MEDIA will be contacted with an update by the end of the week.

French union the CGT is industrial action across all business verticals on September 12 to protest against government labour plans.

Spme 83 projects will be pitched at the annual event, with 23 territories represented.
