ITV Studios hires ex-BBCWW sales exec
ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVSGE) has brought former BBC Worldwide executive Vincent Baylaucq.
He has been named VP of sales for French-speaking Europe at UK broadcaster ITV’s sales arm.
One key duty will be working closely with Tetra Media Studio, the French production house ITV bought earlier this year.
Baylaucq was formerly senior sales executive at the BBC’s commercial arm. During a 17-year career, he has also worked at Canal+, and has been consulting since last year when he left the BBC.
At ITVSGE, Baylaucq report to executive VP of EMEA distribution and global digital partners Dan Gopal. His role is a new one based in Paris, and Baylaucq begins immediately.
“The French speaking market remains an important and growing region for us, especially for UK and European drama, so it is crucial that our sales head is based in Paris to ensure we are ever closer to our broadcast and digital partners,” said Gopal.
ITVSGE added French-language titles such as Un Village Français and Les Hommes de l’Ombre when its production sister, ITV Studios (ITVS), acquired Tetra in February.
ITV Studio France operates separately to Tetra, focusing on developing adapting ITVS and Talpa Media formats locally.
