Smithsonian leads Terranoa doc deals
The US’s Smithsonian Network is getting a 45-minute version of Terranoa-sold factual show Tokyo Phoenix.
The network has acquired the doc from the French distributor following its premiere screening at MIPDoc in April.
Discovery Networks Asia and VRT in Belgium are also on board the doc, which looks at how Japan’s ultra-modern capital has twice risen from destruction.
This comes ahead of factual-focused doc event Sunny Side of the Doc in La Rochelle, France, next week.
Terranoa is heading to the event with several partners secured for new 1x90mins / 1x52mins doc Last Call for Titan.
NHK in Japan, MBC Al Arabya and ERT in Greece have pre-bought the science doc, which is planned for France 5’s primetime doc slot in September.
RDI in Canada and RTBF in Belgium have pre-bought 1x52mins Soviet Football, which comes a year before the football World Cup in Russia in 2018.
Terranoa will also be selling 1x52mins Josephine Baker: The Story of an Awakening, which is from Kepler 22 and is for Arte, and Homo Spatius, a France 5 doc from Cocottes Minutes Productions.
