Scripps nurtures talent incubator
Scripps Networks Interactive has created a talent incubation unit within its social and digital production division.
Scripps Lifestyle Experts (SLE) will look to Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and YouTube to find new talent that can become experts in home, food and travel, and for their respective HGTV, Food Network and Travel Channel verticals.
SLE will sit within Scripps Lifestyle Studios (SLS), the digital division it launched last year under senior VP and general manager Vikki Neil.
“This new division within Scripps Lifestyle Studios will be the home of the brightest and best lifestyle experts from around the world, providing creative and commercial opportunities for the next generation of designers, chefs, travel enthusiasts and more,” said Neil.
SLE will search the US and key international hubs and broadcast partners. The talent will work on various SLS productions across platforms, and work with advertisers to reach younger audiences.
Already signed to the unit is New York City chef Lazarus Lynch (who has appeared on Food Networks’ The Kitchen, Chopped Junior and Beat Bobby Flay), Maria Antoinette Loggins (MariaAntoinetteTV) and Ryan Van Duzer (Bike Tour of California Wineries).
