Mongol TV has acquired local remake rights to Come Dine with Me.
The network has been a prolific buyer of Western formats, and has now become the latest to take ITV Studios-sold format CDWM.
The show has been sold into more than 40 territories, and is currently in season 16 in Germany and has more than 950 episodes in French-speaking Canada.
“Mongolians are very family-oriented people and cooking for family, friends is very meaningful in Mongolian culture,” said Mongol CEO Chinbat.
“Come Dine With Me will not only offer a unique window to contemporary Mongolian society, but it will also showcase the competitive nature of Mongolian people.”
Senior VP of sales Hyeonza Hong brokered the deal for ITV Studios Global Entertainment, ITV’s sales arm.
