RLJE Int’l rebrands to Acorn Media Int’l

Acorn SVODRLJE International has been renamed Acorn Media International.

The division is the international unit of RLJ, the US-listed company that runs OTT services and is the majority owner of Agatha Christie Limited, which manages the author’s IP.

The international business started out as a DVD label and has since branched out into digital and other forms of distribution.

Acorn Media Group was the original umbrella brand before its purchase by RLJ in 2012 saw it rebadged.

It will now retake the Acorn moniker.

Acorn is also the brand name of the group production arm and the RLJ-operated US OTT service, which specialises in bringing UK content to US streaming viewers.

Acorn Media International chief Stuart Shaw said: “I’m particularly pleased that in this division’s 20th year of business, not only is it thriving, but having been through some changes it is returning back to its original name while looking forward to a future both in distribution, SVOD and a broad investment in coproductions giving us a firm-footing in the global entertainment business.”
