Turner rejigs Southeast Asian unit under Dembla

Turner Asia Pacific is restructuring to align its Southeast Asia operations under local content sales and distribution chief Vishal Dembla.

Vishal DemblaThe rejig sees Dembla named VP and general manager of Southeast Asia. This puts him in control of all commercial and channels operations in the region, which Turner describes as “increasingly important”.

Dembla will also lead the day-to-day management of Turner’s kids and entertainment businesses in Southeast Asia, including Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Oh!K, Warner TV and truTV.

No other execs have affected by the restructure, a Turner spokesman said.

Dembla was previously in charge of distribution and content sales in Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. His remit now also covers Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

“For the first time, we have aligned all our Southeast Asia efforts under one executive, and these changes will enable Turner to better develop its growing business in this region,” said Phil Nelson, Turner’s managing director of Southeast Asia Pacific and North Asia.

“Vishal has been an integral member of our senior management team – forging new initiatives and driving growth – and is well-positioned for this new role.”
