A+E hires Asia programming chief from Fox
A+E Networks has brought on Sun Young Moon to head up programming, development and a drive into local content in North Asia.
She joins from the international arm of Fox Networks Group where she was VP, programming and channel head of Nat Geo Asia, Star World and Channel [V].
At channel operator A+E, she will oversee programming, acquisitions and scheduling across Japan and North Korea including, the company said, a push into local content.
Based in Seoul, South Korea, she will report to Saugato Banerjee, general manager, North Asia.
“Sun is an accomplished programming executive whose specialized skill set is perfectly suited to achieving our goal of delivering a compelling content mix to ensure the growth of A+E Networks’ footprint in the region,” said Banerjee.
“I am excited to be joining A+E Networks at a time of great expansion for the A+E brand and look forward to generating many local productions that deliver the A+E pedigree with captivating entertainment for audiences across all platforms,” said Moon.
Moon’s hire is the second in recent days by A+E in the region. At the end of January it recruited former Twitter and BBC exec Youngsun Soh as its country chief for Korea.
A+E runs its channels as joint ventures in several territories, but is moving to a wholly-owned operating model in several parts of the world, including Asia.
