The CW buys UK adventure drama from Sky Vision
American broadcaster The CW has acquired British adventure drama Hooten & the Lady from UK-based distributor Sky Vision.
The CW has bought British scripted fare such as Dates in the past, and has now snapped up 8x60mins Sky 1 drama Hooten & the Lady.
The drama comes from Red Planet Productions, and follows the escapades of a maverick adventurer (Michael Landes) and a fearless historical expert (Ophelia Lovibond).
The deal marks a first US network agreement for Sky Vision, which is the production and distribution arm of Sky 1 parent Sky. Sky Vision director of sales Leona Connell said the “high-octane adventure drama is a perfect fit for the network”.
“The series was a huge hit with the Sky 1 audience in the UK and we hope viewers of The CW will love it just as much,” she added.
