Death Row doc gets green light
NBCUniversal cable net 13éme Rue (13th Street France) has commissioned 20 Years on Death Row, a doc series following the ongoing case of a Californian prisoner awaiting execution.
French indie Pernel Media is producing the series, which has exclusive access to the defence’s legal team, to tell the story of Keith Doolin, a truck driver convicted of murdering two women in 1995.
The four-part English-language series was ordered by 13éme Rue programming execs Hector Lavigneand and Stephanie Hunt and marks the second time Pernel has worked with the cable net after it transmitted the indie’s true crime series The Innocence Network.
“The Keith Doolin case is an extraordinary story where the new evidence that has recently come to light could save his life,” said Pernel founder Samuel Kissous.
“We’re delighted to partner again with 13éme Rue in making another gripping true crime series which will follow Keith’s appeal process, revealing the new evidence and twists and turns of the case.”
