Nurses producer Yellow hires ex-YLE drama chief
Nurses creator Yellow Film & Television has a new chief creative officer in the shape of former YLE drama acquisitions chief Olli Tola.
The experienced exec, who has worked in scripted for 30 years, will lead Yellow’s drama and comedy development projects.
“We see Mr. Tola’s recruitment as an integral part of Yellow Film & TV’s international strategy where CEO Olli Haikka and head of drama and international development Petja Peltomaa will be able to focus more effort on our international projects,” said COO Milla Bruneau.
She added Tola would oversee all domestic fiction projects at the Finland-based prodco.
Yellow’s latest comedy-drama, Downshifters, has been optioned by companies in Sweden and the US, with a “French sales company” selling it in the territory as a ready-made.
The series follows a very successful mid-30s couple who are forced to end their luxurious lifestyle after running into debts, and to then sell the idea of their new, frugal way of living to family and friends.
A second season of the show is in production in Finland, while the show that Yellow is best known for, Nurses, is going into a second season in Sweden, where TV4 first ordered a remake in March.
