CEE/Asia shake-up at RTL
Luxembourg-based broadcast group RTL has named Andreas Fischer (left) senior VP business development and regional operations in central and eastern Europe and Asia.
He succeeds Andreas Rudas, whose contract is up, though he will continue to consult on RTL Hungary and be vice chairman of the board of the Hungarian operation.
The outgoing Rudas (right) has been chairman of the board of RTL Hungary, as well as serving as interim CEO, in the wake of Dirk Gerkens’ exit.
Fischer has been at RTL since 2000 in various roles. Since 2013, he has been managing and coordinating the activities of the broadcaster’s synergy committees.
Fischer will step into the new role in January and report to RTL group co-CEO Guillaume de Posch. The role will see him taking responsibility for RTL’s TV services in Croatia, Hungary and southeast Asia, including the RTL CBS joint venture.
He will become a member of the RTL Group Operations Management Committee.
Gabriella Vidus, CEO of RTL Hungary and Henning Tewes, CEO of RTL Croatia, meanwhile, will report to de Posch under the new structure.
“We are happy that we were able to secure Andreas Rudas’ expertise as he will continue to work as a consultant to the group,” said RTL co-CEOs Anke Schäferkordt and de Posch in a statement.
“We are very pleased that we have found a successor for Andreas Rudas from within RTL Group. In 16 years in different roles at RTL Group, Andreas Fischer gained detailed and extensive knowledge of the markets, our company and our strategy.
“With this vast experience, he is the perfect fit to continue the work that was started by Andreas Rudas in Asia and continue our success story in central and eastern Europe.”
