Italy’s Rai launches streaming service
Rai has launched Rai Play, its free OTT service, which offers live streams of a range of its channels.
Launching the service this week, the Italian pubcaster said it has been working on Rai Play for over a year.
It will offer live streaming of all of Rai’s main services including Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3, Rai Sport, and kids offerings RaiYoyo and Rai Gulp.
Italian viewers will also be able to access catch-up and on-demand content via the service across multiple genres of programming including docs, drama and entertainment.
It is available over the top or via dedicated iOS and Android apps.
RAI general manager Antonio Campo dall’Orto said: “We can give Italians an additional service, which includes the ability to watch programmes whenever they want, even those who at that time are not on the air, in addition to other services around content.”
