Nine Network in Australia and New Zealand channel Prime have bought CBS’s upcoming true crime series The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey from Electus International.
The deals comes after US producer-distributor Electus partnered with The Case Of… prodco Critical Content in a worldwide distribution deal.
It also comes ahead of the doc-series’ US debut on broadcast network CBS on September 18.
The Case Off… is a six-hour miniseries that re-examines the unsolved murder six-year-old beauty queen Ramsey, reuniting the original investigators with new experts.
Ramsey was found dead in the basement of her Colorado home in 1996. Her family was initially suspected, and it took until 2008 to completely clear them. The case reopened a year later, but has not been solved.
Electus International will bring the series to MIPCOM in October.
“The JonBenét Ramsey murder sent shockwaves around the world and we are confident this series will resonate with viewers across the world,” said the firm’s senior VP.
