AMC to feel Terror in Europe, Lat Am
AMC Global has acquired rights to upcoming anthology drama The Terror, which the pay TV’s channel’s US counterpart is producing.
The day-and-date deal with distributor AMC Studios means AMC Global’s channels will broadcast the ten-episode drama within minutes of the US broadcast in 2017.
The series, set in 1847, follows a Royal Navy crew caught in a desperate battle to survive after attracting the attention of a mysterious predator.
“With a distinctive combination of science fiction and historical non-fiction, The Terror will complement the outstanding line-up of original series on AMC Global such as Fear the Walking Dead, Humans and Into the Badlands,” said Harold Gronenthal, executive VP, programming and operations, AMC and Sundance Channel Global.
Scott Free, Emjag Productions and Entertainment 360 are coproducing the David Kajganich-penned drama, which is based on Dan Simmons’ novel, in association with AMC Studios.
