AMC buys All3 CEE package
AMC Networks has acquired an 80-hour package from All3Media International for its channels in central and eastern Europe.
The pan-CEE deal covers a raft of content from All3Media-owned factual prodco Lion Television. Titles include China: Treasures of the Jade Empire, The Great Wall of China: The Hidden Story, Meet the Romans (pictured), Rome: Empire Without Limit with Mary Beard and The Story of Egypt.
AMC gets the programmes for its channels in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Outside of the Lion titles, the channel operator has also taken Brave New Media-produced Building the Ancient City: Athens and Rome, Maverick’s Dinosaur Britain, and Studio Lambert’s The Great Interior Design Challenge.
Beyond the CEE region, All3 announced several other factual sales for Lion shows. The Story of Egypt has been bought by broadcasters including including HRT (Croatia), SBS (Australia), FTV Prima (Czech Republic), Foxtel (Australia, New Zealand), Viasat World (CEE and Scandinavia), Top TV (New Zealand) and TVO (Canada).
Egypt’s Lost Queens, for BBC Two in the UK, has been acquired by channels including RTVE (Spain), Arte (Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland, and German- and French-speaking Europe), SVT (Sweden), SBS (Australia) and TVO (Canada).
Stephen Driscoll, executive VP, EMEA and Canadian sales at All3Media International, said: “This diverse roster of sales, including the significant package to AMC for CEE territories, proves that demand for these impeccably-produced blue-chip titles continue to be very robust.”
