Nicole Brown Simpson’s sister making crime series
Denise Brown Simpson is making a true crime series with NBC’s Peacock Productions.
Denise is the sister of Nicole Brown Simpson, the murdered ex-wife of O.J. Simpson, whose death was at the centre of the infamous O.J. Simpson murder trial.
The Peacock-produced unscripted show will see Brown and a team of experts investigate a case in which justice has been called into question.
“Peacock Productions’ expertise in the true-crime narrative and unscripted programming is unparalleled,” said Denise Brown. “I am excited to begin working with Peacock and tell the stories of lives that have forever been changed by the criminal justice system.”
Peacock Productions is a division of NBC News, although no broadcaster for the as-yet-untitled crime show has been announced.
“Denise has experienced first-hand the complexities of the criminal justice system,” said Melody Shafir, vice president of development for Peacock Productions.
“She testified on behalf of her sister during one of the most high-profile murder trials in recent history and will draw on that experience throughout the series, with a deep understanding of the impact the system can have on the victim’s family.”
In related new, US cable net FX said it will repeat all episodes of its drama series The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story in a programming marathon on June 11, starting at 2pm.
