Rive Gauche hires Pifher for development
US producer and distributor Rive Gauche Television has hired Julie Pifher as vice president of development.
She joins from US indie Workaholic Productions, where her credits included My Giant Life for TLC. Prior to that she was at Prepper Hillbiliies company Morningstar.
Pifher is actually rejoining LA-based RGTV having been a development exec there earlier in her career. In her new role she will work up new ideas, copros and look at acquisition opportunities.
“It’s great to be back at a place I’m familiar with,” she said. “The groundbreaking, unique and edgy type of programming that have worked for Rive Gauche fit with the type of shows I love to develop.”
The hire comes as RGTV said it is pushing for more copros and US commissions.
“It’s with great excitement we welcome Julie back to Rive Gauche Television,” said Jon Kramer, CEO of Rive Gauche. “She knows our company well, and is the perfect person to translate RGTV’s expertise and trend-setting mindset to get projects placed on the US networks.”
