Kids producer launches OTT channel Bop
Kids producer launches OTT channel E-Bop.tv.
Little Red Tractor producer Keith Littler is launching E-Bop.tv, an online channel for preschoolers wholly programmed with UK kids TV content.
Littler has launched the OTT channel with entrepreneur Victoria Brook.
At launch there will be five new series available – Little Red Tractor, Billy, Jolly Jobs, Flossie the Tooth Fairy and Don’t Like It, Won’t Eat It – the rights to which are all held by the E-Bop.tv owners.
E-Bop.tv said new content will be added at the start of each month. They added they have created the new channel “as a safe and free antidote to the ever increasing Americanisation of British children’s television [and] digital content and fill the gap left by diminishing content offered by commercial terrestrial channels”.
The service will auto switch off after two hours, E-Bop.tv said, to ensure kids aren’t having too much screen time. The service will be advertising free.
The company told TBI it will generate revenue from advertising on the Bopstop site that houses the E-Bop.tv service, and from sponsorship and promotions.
There is also an £8.99 (US$12.76) subscription available to the Bopnik Club, which gives programming sneak peaks and goody bags.
“The launch of E-Bop.tv is the fulfilment of a dream that’s been with me for several years now,” said Littler.
“What makes it even more special is that we have brought this channel to launch without any compromises; the two-hour auto switch-off, 100% original UK content, free access and no advertising to kids are all in place which give us exceptionally strong USP’s that we know will appeal to parents.”
