eOne alternative chief in Long term deal
Entertainment One Television has signed its executive VP, US alternative programming, Tara Long, to a new contract.
Long has signed a long-term agreement that will see her remain with the North American studio as it seek to double in size by 2020.
Long launched eOne’s alternative programming unit, and has gone on to sign first-look content deals with the likes of Kevin Healey (Scare Tactics), Riaz Patel (How Do I Look?), Mark Ford, Kevin Lopez, Chris Deaux, and, most recently, Matt Anderson and Nate Green.
eOne’s unscripted output under Long has included Nellyville, It’s a Mann’s World and The Sheards.
The news comes soon after eOne recently bought a 65% stake in Naked & Afraid producer Renegade 83.
“Tara has a knack for finding original and captivating stories, and a talent for delivering stand-out content,” said eOne Television CEO John Morayniss. “She has transformed eOne into a significant player in the U.S. reality space with her track record of success of new hit shows and an incredibly impressive renewal rate.
“Tara is truly a powerhouse and I am thrilled that she is at the helm to bring more and more of our alternative programming to the global marketplace.”
