Before becoming a lawyer, Henderson was a TV producer and the new role combines both skill sets.
At Insurrection she will take a newly-created role of general counsel and head of production, putting her in charge of the the firm’s newly-minted digital content arm, as well as legal and business affairs.
Before joining Insurrection, Henderson was at general counsel at Zodiak Americas, the US division of Zodiak Media, which has recently been taken over by Banijay Group. Prior to that she was at Disney and Paramount.
Insurrection is the digital studio launched last year by former Fox network digital programming chief Kiliaen Van Rensselaer.
“[Deborah’s] deep experience and judgment in traditional television deal making and production combined with her leadership in structuring inventive digital agreements make her one of a kind,” Van Rensselaer, CEO of Insurrection Media, said.
“She’s the ideal executive for us at this juncture as we hit our next phase of growth. Our production services division is now open for business under her very capable hands.”
