m4e taking comic Jinnrise to TV

German media group m4e will adapt popular comic book series Jinnrise as a 3D CGI-animated series after a series was successfully financed.

m4e will create Jinnrise with Jabal Entertainment, which originally created the comic book series in 2012, and is also handling worldwide distribution and licensing and merchandising rights.

Billed as an action-adventure comedy for 7-12s, Jinnrise will follow the global adventures of a ten-year-old boy and his best friend, a boisterous ‘Jinn’ genie named Jabal, and their friends: an international student and slacker, a martial arts prodigy and a scientist and conspiracy theorist.

The travel the world setting free other superpowered ‘Jinns’ to aid a battle against alien conquerors.
