StudioCanal Paranoid about new ITV drama
ITV has ordered Paranoid, a new eight-part drama about a group of detectives sucked into a Europe-wide conspiracy thriller.
StudioCanal prodco Red will make the series for ITV and StudioCanal’s sales arm will handle international distribution.
The series, which is written by Bill Gallagher (The Paradise) will follow a group of detectives in a fictional town in the north of England who find what seems like a straightforward murder case becomes a wider mystery that takes them across Europe.
The eight series was commissioned by ITV director of drama Steve November.
“Paranoid is a taut, compelling eight part series with all the hallmarks of a classic psychological thriller,” November said.
“Bill has written some incredibly well-defined characters who embark on a terrifying murder investigation as it becomes evident from the outset that malevolent forces are at play.”
