Portfolio hires sales and acquisitions exec

Canadian producer and distributor Portfolio Entertainment has recruited Jonathan Abraham as director of international sales and acquisitions.

Abraham will oversee sales and oversee the growth of the distribution division, Portfolio said, as well as acquiring third-party kids, factual and lifestyle programming for the catalogue.

He joins the Toronto-based firm from toy company Zuru, where he was the Hong Kong-based sales and marketing manager. Before that he was at trade publication KidScreen and producer and distributor 9 Story.

The hire follows that of Jennifer Bragg as director of factual and lifestyle development late last year.

Portfolio expanded from kids into factual and lifestyle in recent times.
