Super RTL, Ten look to Lexi & Lottie
Germany’s Super RTL and Australia’s Network Ten are on-board a new 26x22mins detective-comedy toon for kids aged 6-9.
Lexi & Lottie also brings together Irish producer Telegael, Australia’s SLR Productions and German distributor ZDF Enterprises.
This marks the latest coproduction between the partners, following efforts such as The Skinner Boys (though this was for Network Nine in Australia and didn’t involve Ten) and live action effort Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures.
Lexi & Lottie will follow identical 12-year-old twins who solve mysteries in their country town and its animal park.
Sydney-based SLR created the concept in-house, with Super RTL joining at development stage and the Australian Children’s Television Foundation providing script assistance.
SLR Productions’ Suzanne Ryan and Telegael’s Paul Cummins executive produce, with Jo Boag as creative director, Melanie Alexander script producer and Greg Ingram director.
“The strong twin girls are a great addition to our character portfolio and the exciting detective adventures build on the success of The Skinner Boys which we also partnered on with SLR Productions and ZDF Enterprises,” said Super RTL’s programme director, Carsten Göttel.
