Televisa, Anima Kitchent rebooting Spanish toon

Kids-logo-460_2Televisa and Spain-based prodco Anima Kitchent are working up Cleo and Cuquín, a new animated series based on the classic Spanish toon Telerín Family that ran through the 1960s and 1970’s.

Cleo and CuquínThe new 3D CGI series will target preschoolers and run to 52x7mins and also have associated apps and video clips.

Ánima Kitchent will produce the show. It is a new Spain-based prodco backed by Mexico’s Ánima Estudios, and run by former Vodka Capital management including Victor M. Lopez.

“We have a brand with over 50 years of life that remains a benchmark in the Spanish-speaking world,” said Lopez. “Now, with our eyes set on the international market, we are transforming it into innovative transmedia content.”

The new prodco also owns and manages Vodka Capital brands including Jelly Jamm and Bugsted.
